Should I buy a laptop of a desktop PC for my 11 yr old brother?
My brother needs a new computer, and I can't decide between a laptop or a desktop.Here are a few things that need to be considered 1. I'd want a steady computer that would last longer without a lot of hassles. It would be more like a home computer, for the whole family, and he'd mostly need another computer when he's 16 17, but it should still work for elementary purposes.2. Right now, he needs it mostly for school work and to learn Computer programming. I don't want a computer for high end gaming. Just a decent level would do 3. His eye power is 6 I guess. This is one big deciding factor. Whatever I buy should be very easy on the eyes advice regarding this would be greatly appreciated D 4. Should have average qualities overall.
Issue with Acer Aspire 2920 laptop monitor?
My display is squashed to the left, making most things pretty hard to see. I've already tried reinstalling the video card driver, and it makes no difference. Everything functions and displays as normal when I work through a different monitor by using a VGA cable, however. Could anyone pinpoint what's wrong and or tell me how to fix it? Why does my laptop freeze when playing Grand Chase, and only then?
It's weird but my laptop freezes up whenever I'm playing Grand Chase for like an hour or so. It's pretty damn annoying. And it's not just a simple freeze that just freezes the game but your PC is fine, ooooooh no That would be too easy. My laptop decides to screw me over and the whole laptop freezes, thus I have to restart my PC.Anyways... My friend said it's probably because my laptop just can't handle it. I don't really think that's it. My laptop is only like 3 years old. It ran MapleStory fine, so I don't see why it screws up with this one. My idea is that it has to do with my antivirus software. I use Kaspersky antivirus software, and GC uses nProtective Gaurd, and so from the beginning when I just downloaded GC, it wouldn't run because my Kaspersky wouldn't allow nProtective to run, which is essential in order to launch the game. So I looked around the internet and found a solution in which I put some files from GC into the " trusted" section of Kaspersky, and now it at least let's me run the game.So yeah... I really have no idea why it does this crap. I shouldn't have any problem. For that first hour or so the gameplay is smooth and everything runs up to speed. If anyone could have a suggestion or a tip as to why my laptop freezes, then please post a response. D
Is my laptop overheating? Or what?
My laptop has no viruses or at least it says , and whenever i play a video game like The Elder Scrolls 5 Skyrim, it sometimes goes into a weird mode where the screen will change different colors and then sometimes it will kick back on and say my display drivers have stopped and not responded, or i will have to shut the laptop off because of it. I use a heating pad, i don't use it on my lap, and it is put at an angle. I don't know if it's just overheating, or if there is a different much more severe problem. The different colored screen and display driver shut down only occur when I am playing a game. If you have answers that would be wonderful All of my drivers are updated and it still does the same thing, and i dont know why P.

How to make my laptop screen darker?
I want it to be even darker than the darkest the computer settings can provide. It really makes my eyes very tired. I already set my screen to the darkest in the brightness level. Is there a way?

Laptop harddisk question?
Ok, i recently removed the harddisk from a very old laptop.I need to transfer the data onto a new laptop.Do I need a special device for this?If I removed my current HD from my new laptop to slot in the old one, I'm still going to need some way to transfer the data right?thanks
